Here are the finished pictures of the Necron Temple in all its grandeur. This sucker was huuuge, and it was one of my personal favorites of all time. A lot of hard work, but very impressive. Enjoy!
Sometimes people view these pictures and accuse me of “using too much photoshop” in our pictures, and they want to see what it really looks like. I have to refer them back to this project log and show that all we do for the finished studio shots is bring in better lights and throw a backdrop up. (Once in a while we’ll edit out an out-of-place cat-paw, ceiling fan or pinky finger, but we never adjust the model itself.)
This piece paved the way for a slew of new Necron Terrain ideas, please head over to our gallery and see what’s new in the Necron section!

very cool looking terrain piece.
it wasnt untill i saw the studio pictures untill i recognized it as something i saw on the internet a couple of times when just searching for necron stuff…
to be honest its quite famous :P
anyway, i was wondering where you got that green acrylic sheet. im thinking of making some sort of “stasis” chamber”, kind of like a borg cube with lots and lots of necrons used on the ghost arc inside some sort of tubes. with as you said most necron fanatics would do, use the acrylic sheet for “windows” :P
the idea of making those glowing lines is also really intriguing and im gonna try to make those lines across my necron side of my board (got a modular board with 4-6 24×24 inch plates with different themes and with my new necron army im making 2 necron plates) but i havnt figured out how to do that as there will have to be a light source underneath my board for that… but it will be an eye catcher :P
anyway, if you could let me know where to get that green acrylic sheet that would be awesome and keep up the good work!
We were lucky enough to find a clearance of the stuff at a local Ace Hardware/Hobby shop, but that was several years ago.
Tips: White light makes it glow, no other color will work. Glue on the broad/flat edges may distort the light as it glows. Good luck and send some pictures when you get it done!
Keep up the work
